Terms of Service

Last updated: [Effective date]

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of BakuHub (the "Service"), operated by [Operator name] ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

BakuHub is a platform where creators publish their own manga and its translations for readers to read and buy, and a tool that translates the text in images.

Translations are made with AI and reviewed by the creator before they are published. We do not guarantee that a translation is complete or exact.

2. Your account

You need an email address or a Google account to sign up. Keep your details accurate and your password to yourself.

You may not transfer, lend or share your account. You can delete it at any time from your account settings.

If you are a minor, use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.

3. Subscriptions, purchases and credits

・Subscriptions: a monthly price per creator, charged when you subscribe and renewed automatically each month until you cancel. While subscribed you can read every live episode of that creator.
・Episodes: bought with credits. An episode you bought stays yours to read, subscribed or not.
・Volumes: bought by card.
・Credits: usable only on the Service. They cannot be refunded for cash, exchanged or transferred. They are valid for [Credit validity period].

Prices are in US dollars and shown on each page. Payments are processed by Stripe.

4. Refunds and cancellation

Because these are digital goods, purchases are not refundable, except when you were charged twice or cannot read what you bought because of a fault on our side.

You can cancel a subscription at any time. You will not be charged again, and you can keep reading until the end of the period you paid for. We do not refund part of a period.

To ask for a refund, write to [Email address].

5. Chargebacks

If you have a question about a charge, please contact us before disputing it with your card issuer.

If a payment is disputed (a chargeback), we may suspend access to what it bought, and to your account, until the dispute is resolved. If we find a dispute was made in bad faith, we may close the account.

6. Rights in the works

Each work and its translations belong to its creator or other rights holder. As a reader you may only read them on the Service for your own personal use.

You may not copy, download, repost, redistribute or publish screenshots of the works, or use them to train AI.

Creators who publish on the Service also agree to the Creator Agreement.

7. What you may not do

・Break the law, or post anything that does.
・Infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, likeness or privacy.
・Upload or publish work you do not hold the rights to.
・Repost or scrape the Service's content, or get around its technical protections.
・Make fraudulent payments, use someone else's account, or interfere with the Service.

8. Suspension and removal

If you break these Terms, or a rights holder sends us a valid complaint, we may unpublish or remove content, or suspend your account, without notice.

To report an infringement, send the page's address and the right concerned to [Email address].

9. Changes to the Service

We may change or close the Service. If we close it, we will tell you a reasonable time ahead, and handle unused credits as the law requires.

10. Liability

Except for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us for the transaction that caused the damage.

Where consumer protection law does not allow this limit, that law applies.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. We will announce important changes on the Service ahead of the date they take effect.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The [Court] has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute about the Service.
